CANCELLATIONS. 90% refund if cancelled before 1 week of arrival. Cancellations after one week before or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.
CHECK-IN begins at 3 pm, and check-out is by 11am.
ADDITIONAL FACILITIES. The Guest House is on the garden level of Anisha, a Center for Holistic Health. There is onsite massage, holistic health therapists, see the links page for details of the services offered by the centre
LOCALE. The Guest House is located in the heart of the Hawthorne district which is known for its unique small shops, the Baghdad Theater, great restaurants and cafes and it is just a 5-10 min bus ride on the #14 to downtown. We are also close to the slopes of MT Tabor where there are numerous walking trails. SE Portland is known for its ‘districts’, and the Garden Guest House on Hawthorne is in close proximity to the Belmont, Division and Clinton districts each with their own character.
BASE CAMP. When you stay at The Garden Guest House on Hawthorne, Mt Hood, all year round skiing and hiking is 1 hr and a half away, as is the Oregon Coast, and the city is on your doorstep.
PARKING is on the street, though there are no meters, no time limits, and there is almost always a spot available on our block.
PETS. We regret we do not allow pets, BUT we know someone in Portland who does! The Mark Spencer Hotel in downtown Portland www.markspencer.com
They have a whole floor dedicated to guests with owners and have a special greetings package for your pet!
COMMUNICATIONS & ENTERTAINMENT. We have free wi-fi. There is a TV (Just 12 stations from Antenna reception, if you need Comcast fort special sports events try down the road at the Coney Island Bar) DVD player, a radio/CD/ipod player, or just crack open a book from the shelves. Local maps are available and we encourage you to go out to the many restored movie theaters with their diverse offerings.
TOILETRIES & LAUNDRY. Towels, wash cloths, soap, shampoo and a hair dryer are all provided. There is a clothes washing machine and dryer and an iron are in the closet.
HOLIDAYS. We are open everyday. However, certain holidays you need to check in beforehand, & out afterwards: July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's.
NO's- No pets and no smoking inside.
